Paul Dick (yes, that was his real name) joined circa 1975 as a General Entry from Albury/Wodonga. After Cerberus, spent sometime at Kuttabul as an ETS awaiting sea-posting. Took up a commission in maybe early 80's Left pussers (date unknown) and went to England where he got married, changed his name, and apparently still lives there employed as a computer/IT consultant. If anyone has a contact number or address, I would appreciate it.
If anyone thinks that they may know him - Paul is the guy who in 1976, when swimming with a bunch of other OD's (myself included) at Manly Beach, thought that the water tasted "funny". His remark started a big scare and intense search for 'blind mullet' in the water. (Manly Beach at the time having the alternate notorious name of 'Brown Stain,' to distinguish it from North Steyne & South Steyne). After much looking and scanning of waves and water and interrogation of Paul it turned out that, coming from Albury, he had never swam in the ocean before - only in fresh water like the Murray. That's why he thought the water tasted 'funny'.
